Lucca de Campos Arantes

Lucca Arantes is a young Brazilian researcher and activist from Roraima, dedicated to social innovation, sustainability, and inclusive policy. He currently serves as the International Environmental President at MOV, the largest non-partisan youth-led organization spanning Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe. In this role, Lucca leads global initiatives on climate and sustainability, including the creation of Brazil’s first youth-led AI environmental platform, which equips young people with data-driven tools to analyze and act on environmental challenges.

Growing up in Roraima, one of the most overlooked states in Brazil and South America when it comes to climate justice, deeply shaped Lucca’s mission. Experiencing firsthand the social and environmental vulnerabilities of the region instilled in him a determination to fight for climate justice in forgotten places. His perspective was further shaped by his sister’s disability, which taught him to view climate change through the lens of accessibility and resilience. Living alongside indigenous communities also exposed him early to their ancestral knowledge of sustainability, sparking his interest in research and his belief that climate solutions must integrate Indigenous wisdom. These personal experiences forged his conviction that climate change is not only an environmental issue but also one of justice, equity, and human rights.

Lucca has also played a significant role in youth diplomacy. He led the drafting of an official letter in collaboration with UN Human Rights, proposing concrete solutions for climate change and emphasizing the role of youth in shaping equitable climate policy. His advocacy has further extended through participation in more than four Mercosur conferences, where he has contributed to regional strategies on integration, sustainability, and civic participation. He has also broken barriers as the first person from his state to attend both Harvard Model United Nations and Princeton MUNC, strengthening his role as a voice for Global South youth in international policymaking.

As a researcher, Lucca has authored three independent papers, becoming the youngest person published in Latin America’s largest private educational group, reaching over two million readers. This achievement followed his selection for a Lumiere Foundation research scholarship (3% acceptance rate), where he explored applied economics, sustainability, and accessibility.

Lucca is also the founder of Inclusor, an AI-powered investment platform advancing financial inclusion and disability rights. By suggesting symbolic portfolios, enabling micro-investments, and evaluating the inclusivity of ESG-branded companies, Inclusor demonstrates his belief that sustainability must also mean accessibility. His advocacy places people with disabilities (PWDs) at the heart of climate and economic justice, a perspective too often overlooked in global discussions.

At the crossroads of finance, climate action, and human rights, Lucca works to democratize access to resources and empower underrepresented voices across Latin America and the Global South. Whether through AI innovation, international diplomacy, or academic research, his mission remains clear: to ensure that the fight against climate change is also a fight for equity, inclusivity, and justice.
